This Friday we announce the winners of the 2011 savewater! awards®. Leading up to the big night, we thought it might be a great idea tell you each day about the finalists for each category. Last Friday we introduced you to the inspirational finalists for the Australian Achiever category. Today we’re covering another hotly contested group: the Business Category. This is part two, where we will focus on Large Businesses consisting of 15 or more staff.
Phil Smith has done an incredible job of reducing Murray Goulburn Cobram plant’s water use by over 25%. Murray Goulburn is the largest milk processor in Australia, responsible for converting 35% of the country’s milk supply into dairy products.
Water is an essential element in many business operations, but through some clever thinking and ingenuity there is always a means to becoming more water efficient. Edstein Creative Stone is an example of one such business that is just a stone’s throw away from making their company completely water self-sufficient! The initiatives that this stone manufacturing business has implemented saw them win the 2010 savewater! award® for small business.
